The month is a quarter way through, which means New York Fashion Week (a.k.a. the words that shall not be mentioned until at least August 15) is coming up. Jackie Fraser-Swan, designer of edgy indie-cool label Emerson is counting down the days. The Boston-based label—which was named after Jackie’s great-great-great grandfather Ralph Waldo Emerson, whom you may have heard of—always shows in the grand celeb-filled tents at Lincoln Center. So the pressure is looming, but Jackie’s mind is on her upcoming getaway and what on her packing list.
Where is Jackie headed before the NYFW frenzy starts?
“My husband and I are going to Martha’s Vineyard this summer. I’m very busy working on my Spring/Summer 2014 collection right now for NYFW, so we are really looking forward to a weekend getaway. We plan on riding bikes around the Vineyard during the day, and then sitting on the beach later once the sun has gone down. Martha’s Vineyard is such a beautiful place to relax and spend some quality time with my husband before Fashion Week.”
