Melissa: Plastic Dream!

Uncompromisingly designed only to attend the needs of local fishermen, was launched in 1979 by the “Grandene” factory, the line of plastic sandals “Melissa”, in the start only inspired on the sandals used by the fishermen of the French Colony in Brazil.

With nearly 30 years of history Melissa is a true example of style, concept, design, and ecological awareness.

Big names in the fashion world as Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler and Patrick Cox developed for the brand exclusive collections, full of innovation and daring. Other important names also signed partnerships with the brand, as the Egyptian designer Karim Rashid, the Campana brothers, the British designer J. Marskrey and Judy Blame, Vivienne Westwood and the architect Zaha Hadid.

In the Colette and L’Eclaireur, Lafayette Gallery or in the Harvey & Nichols in Turkey, Melissa managed to conquer the world, and today we can find the famous plastic sandals in the trendiest spots frequented by fashionistas and also in the most famous fashion magazines around the globe.
