Who are you MaryMe-JimmyPaul?

At this years Mercedez Benz Fashion week MARYME-JIMMYPAUL kept the mystery alive and still did not show their faces.  Even for the final walk through their PR representatives took the stage in honor of these secretively talented minds.   What we do know from what they create,  that they are positive, courageous, and “ballsy” to say the least, pushing against most rules and boundaries of fashion, and are growing to be one of the most influencial brands on and off this planet. MARYME-JIMMYPAUL brings together art, sculpture, architecture, and fashion, which are all elements of Amsterdam Culture.  This Dutch design collaboration MaryMe – JimmyPaul offers an intriguing perspective on the world and reality as we know it.

This 2014 spring /summer collection went above and beyond planet, to go where no man, woman or child, has gone before, leaving  the ground, gravity and earth elements behind, and radiating something entirely new.  This collection was “based on introspection-ism” and “about exploring post apocalyptic new worlds and fighting the brutal elements of nature on a non-existent planet”.

The show was accompanied by a multitude of musical sounds making up the name “Sam on Mars”. Star studded studios, consisting of Joost Van Bellen and Sander Stenger created a number of sound effects using Japanese and African tribal drums, eerie voices, choirs and many more bits of music, on top of the soundtrack of Aikira… a cyber punk Japanese film, and sounds only decipherable out of this world.  The finale sounds were created by the popular “Wheres your head at” by Basement Jaxx, but in the most lovely classical rendition utilizing the Orchestra of the Metropolitan Opera.

Artistic Director Olga Belama, Stylist Robbie Bauw, and a number of choreographers also took part and made a great team for a wonderfully exciting show.

So who are the designers of MARYME-JIMMYPAUL?  I hope soon to find out!
