Aziz Bekkaoui has been nominated for the Dutch Design Awards 2014 in the ‘Fashion’ category along with Viktor&Rolf and Lernert & Sander.

Bekkaoui’s ‘Images Rule’ F/W ’15 collection, which was presented during Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam back in January 2014, is a predominantly black yet cheerful ode to the diversity, multiplicity and complexity of a contemporary metropolis. Bomber jacks, hats and head scarves have been combined with festive skirts and dresses. Lace is used in both the men’s and the women’s collection.

The Committee: The Committee appreciates the total concept: from presentation to choice of models and from performance to garments. The ode to the dynamic city is present in all aspects. With this spectacular performance, Aziz Bekkaoui communicated a message with sincere emotion. The dynamic presentation, the diversity of models, and the bold mix of cultures and symbols fit into the current streetscape. In addition, the garments are made fantastically and finished expertly.
