The annual Vanity Fair best-dressed list was just revealed, and of all the chic royals we love, only three made the cut: two princesses and, yes, a queen. Spoiler alert: My new style crush Queen Letizia was not included, and I’m a wee bit disappointed.
Princess Mary of Denmark did make the cut, however, and with shoes like that, you can’t really be all that shocked. She’s great at formal events, but her casual style is also pretty sublime. Earlier this summer, she gave Zoe Saldana a run for her money in a floaty printed maxidress.
And nabbing a spot in the vaunted list’s Hall of Fame: Kate Middleton. Her style’s only getting better and might’ve even improved since she became a mom. Also, we now know she has a pair of Louboutins, which might be a requirement for hall of fame entry.
Now, princesses aren’t the only chic ones in the royal family. Let’s not forget the Queen! Queen Máxima of the Netherlands routinely picks statement colors and prints and is more than comfortable with fascinators (and, ahem, tiaras). For example: She wore a bright yellow turban-type wrap at an event earlier this summer that made for a great accessory moment.
