The Best Dressed at the Teen Choice Awards. And Good News: The Cocktail Crop Top Is Here to Stay

After last night’s Teen Choice Awards, I think we might have to make it official with the crop top: It’s here to stay. The two-piece look was all over the red carpet, and my favorites were the ones that showed only an inch or so of skin. They feel more sustainable than bra-like ones and don’t totally take over the entire look. Blur your eyes just a tad and it looks like a cocktail sheath.

Taylor Swift took a little break from her retro-leaning ladylike ensembles for this bright green Novis set (though, honestly, that perky skirt has a ’60s shape going on).

For a subtly sexy look, I loved Shay Mitchell’s lacy white Misha Collection pick.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner, with big sister Kim Kardashian, made for a stylish trio. Ignore Kendall’s chic jumpsuit for now though; I’m all about Kim and Kylie’s similar choice of a simple black crop top and a printed skirt, neither showing much more than two inches of tummy (Kim’s is Balmain, Kylie’s is Sass & Bide).

And, OK, I know I said no to the bra-ish crops, but maybe this Valentino one works because Chloë Grace Moretz always seems to wear clothes with so much class. Or that she’s covered it up with a coordinating jacket. Either way, it’s different, and I like it.

The biggest piece of proof that the crop top is a for-sure, serious thing now? The majority of these outfits weren’t initially shown styled as such. Taylor, Kim, and Kylie all mixed and matched pieces to accomplish the crop-top look they wanted.
