VMAs Best Dressed: From Miley’s Crop Top To Kendall Jenner’s Bra Top, Vote Your Favorite

If award shows had personalities, MTV’s Video Music Awards would be flashy, sexy, and definitely drinking some cocktails. There were chic floor-length dresses and saucy numbers that showed a bit more skin and, either way, I loved it all.

Jordin Sparks
Before tonight, I’d slotted little white dresses into the casual, summery section of my closet, but hers was s-e-x-y thanks to a deep neckline and high slit.

Laverne Cox
More than anyone, this OITNB actress knows that clothes send a mega message about the wearer. By the mini-mini cut of this Marc Bouwer one, it’s clear she wanted the evening to read as steamy as all get out.

Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner
It was a three-way thing for the klan, who knocked it out of the park respectively. Chic all-black is almost always a winner, but I also loved Kim’s printed mini that showed off her impressive figure.

Rita Ora
There was a definite old-school screen goddess look to Rita’s Donna Karan red satin gown with the super high slit (it basically came to her hip!). I loved it, especially paired with the sparkly choker.

Jennifer Lopez
J.Lo’s got being a siren down. This sparkly silver number that had cutoffs all over the bodice and a high leg slit was as steamy as it was glam.

Short dresses and high slits are gonna be sexy, no matter what, but Solange served as an excellent reminder that menswear-inspired pieces can be just as sultry. I loved the H&M tuxedo jacket worn sans shirt and fitted trousers.

Taylor Swift
This is beyond different for Miss Swift! She gave the princess’y dresses the night off in favor of what I’m calling a bodysuit. It’s a bold choice, but if there’s a fun night to do it, this is it.

Gwen Stefani
Gwen joined the pant parade in a hot pink set accented with black piping. I never would’ve pegged her for a fan of the neon color before but, darn, this custom L.A.M.B. number looked good.

Miley Cyrus
Miley did a repeat of the crop top and matching pants she wore last year, but this go-around it was more sophisticated and chic.
