In the lead-up to Sunday’s Oscars, there must be actual miles of red carpet—tons of events and parties pop up to take advantage of the fact that so many celebs are in one place at the same time. And while I can’t imagine anything being worn now that’ll over-shadow the big day, it doesn’t mean the stars are resting on their laurels.
Emily Blunt looked stunning in this funky Peter Pilotto dress and picked bright orange pumps as her final color pop. Heck, yes.
As much as I love playful and bright, I also think it’s so very pretty when women go the simple route. Tracee Ellis Ross did all white at an Essence event and it was beautiful.
Kerry Washington got a little artsy with this pick’s painted blossoms and accessorized simply with Jennifer Meyer bar earrings and emerald heels.
I can’t even remember the last time I didn’t like something Sarah Hyland wore and this striped pick is no different. The strong silhouette, the pocket detail—cute! Her heels are Stuart Weitzman.
The rock-chic thing Suki Waterhouse typically has going on entrances me so. This bright red dress she wore to an LA dinner mid-week looks floaty, romantic, and absolutely ’70s-style-icon worthy. Her rings are Jennifer Meyer.
This black-and-white gown Odette Annable picked screams pure glamour, and I love how sharp the one-shoulder neckline is. Her box clutch is by Edie Parker.
So, okay, not a dress, but this matching two-piece set on Samira Wiley was just too sweet to not include. Red carpet suiting is often sultry, but done in fresh brights and with a spray of leafy greens, this is just as prim and proper as a tea-length dress.
