Only just recovered from Milano Moda Donna i’m stuck in the middle of the Paris Fashion Week experience. In an exciting and lucky way of course! In the city of romance.
What else can I ask for more?
There is incredible much to see and enjoy. Of course, I can not illustrate all so I picked out a few favorites of mine. Very amusing and especially inspiring (and for me interesting to illustrate because of the ‘clowinish’ make-up and colourfull wigs) is the collection by John Galliano for Margiela. I’m glad he is back, i always loved his distinctive and theatrical designs. This ready-to-wear collection are extremely portable, stylish and classic.
The ‘new kind of camouflage’ thigh-high vinyl boots with a with a transparent heel are definitely spectacular by Raf Simons for Dior.
This pattern in beautiful color combinations is also reflected in the handbags.
Dries Van Noten’s theme was ‘Grounded Glamour’. Khaki ‘baggy’ chinos with matching shirt and an embroidered long overskirt. And to complete the style… beautiful cloth flowers and feathers around the neck.
Alber Elbaz for Lanvin, a sophisticated collection with for example a red, elegant fringe-belted cape dress was topped off with an onyx riding helmet.
Hedi Slimane ‘rock-style’ for Saint Laurent kind of short ‘punk’ zippered body-dresses surprised me.
The shoes of Rochas (Alessandro Dell’Acqua) were amazing. Plain from the front and a heel encrusted with metalic beads. A dream!
