How to Dress Like Lauren Conrad This Summer

When Lauren Conrad invited us to celebrate her Minnie Mouse collection for Kohl’s, we said yes—and when we arrived, quizzed her on which pieces she plans on wearing throughout the summer. “We wanted to aim for an Americana look, and sneak Minnie into the designs whenever possible,” she explained, calling the pieces “fun and tongue-in-cheek” (a.k.a. the stuff summer wardrobes are made of).

For brunch with friends:
LC’s all about comfortable, easy-to-wear styles you can pull on and go, pointing out the polka dot dress from the range. “I have worn that out to brunch!” she told us. “It’s an easy, breezy dress that’s just past the knee. Plus, it’s a light-weight fabric.”

For a casual date night:
Leave the super sexy cocktail frocks at home and pick something simpler. “Wear what makes you happy,” she said right off the bat. “I like things with hidden details. Something that you don’t see right away, but then you spot it and say, ‘Oh, that’s so fun!'” Case in point: the spotted shorts from her collection that actually have little Minnies rather than polka dots peppered on them. To finish, she’d pull on a classic white button-down.

For a busy weekend:
With Disney on the brain, we wanted to know how Miss Conrad would dress for a day of battling the lines and riding the rides. She revealed her basic combo (a pleated, sleeveless top with jeans) before talking theme parks. “I love Space Mountain and the tea cups because they’re fun. One of my favorite things about going to the park is discovering all sorts of little secrets that you can look up online.”

If you love Disney and Lauren, great news—she has another project coming up, though she’s playing coy about extra details. “It’s not a Disney princess, [but] it is a movie. I can’t say more than that!”
