Designers tend to name their handbags after their muses and It Girls of the moment. From the Marc Jacobs Stam, named for model Jessica Stam, to Mulberry’s Alexa satchel, a nod to Alexa Chung, having a bag named after you is quite the honor.
So when it came to designing her first handbag for Preserve, Blake Lively went with an in-house “It Girl”—her baby daughter, James! The actress put down serious stakes in the fashion world when she opened her fashion and lifestyle site and recently made news designing a few pieces of her own.

The James bag is an American-made satchel from accessory label Sandast, crafted by hand to achieve that “oh this? I’ve had it for years” look. It’ll cost you though—the bag retails for $860.
“Sandast’s bags look like the most yummy, restored vintage pieces,” Blake said in a statement. “I didn’t want a diaper bag that I wouldn’t carry if I wasn’t a mama. I still wanted to be me. We loved the bag so much that we wanted to make them for more mamas.”
Now it’s just a waiting game for the first time that we spot Blake carrying her own bag. She’s been supportive of the pieces carried on the site, sporting a ton out and about, and with this bag’s sweet nod to her little one, it’s pretty much a sure thing that she’ll turn it into a wardrobe essential.
