Kia for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2017

For many years, Kia has been a huge supporter of Sports and even more they have been sponsoring UEFA national football teams and FIFA since 2006. The first European championship they sponsored was the EUFA Euro 2008TM in Switzerland and Austria.

This year, the Netherlands are proud to be hosting the European Women’s Soccer Championship for the first time. To celebrate, Kia is lending 133 cars to the UEFA Women’s Euro at the official ceremony in Rotterdam. The cars were handed over on the 8th of July outside the doors of the Sparta Stadium, better known as the “Castle” and was attended by nonetheless than Mr. D.H. Jung, President of Kia Motors Netherlands and Léan Verstoep, Managing Director Kia Motors Netherlands. Robert Bossert, UEFA Women’s Euro project manager, Bert van Oostveen, WEURO 2017 tournament director, Minke Booij, manager of women’s football KNVB were also present for the big event. Those cars, which came in different models, such as the Niro, Carens, Cee’d, Optima Sportswagon, Sportage and Sorento will be used to transport the teams as well as the officials and the VIPs for the duration of the championship.

Kia is very proud to be sponsoring such an event as they want to be seen as a brand that makes high-quality cars and connects to a young and sporty demographic. They also feel the pride of supporting women’s football as it is still a developing sport in Europe. A few months ago, Kia also had the honour of selecting the Official Match Ball Carriers for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2017. These women will have the chance of walking onto the pitch and handing over the ball to the referees. The tournament will start on the 16th of July in cities all over the country. Fans from all over Europe will be attending this big event and Kia will be there to welcome them. The car brand has been a big lover of sport for many years and is always present at great sporting events around the world such as the NBA for Basketball or the Australian Open in Tennis.
