On Monday July 15th Jose Francisco Ramos made his debut at Amsterdam Fashion Week. The Peruvian designer, based in Lima, enjoys creating futuristic garments by using state-of-the-art techniques like laser cutting and double face intarsia knitting. All found in his new menswear collection “Fragmento”, where the fragmentation of designs and materials shows that everything that can be destroyed can also be restored and consolidated.

The strictly black and white collection is a technical study involving lines, silhouettes and volumes and resulting in a range of jumpers, t-shirts, full length and cropped trousers where circular and straight lines contrast and balance each other out. A succession of round and squared necklines, sloping and power shoulders, soft and rigid jumpers.

To add to the geometric and structured feel of the collection the details: flat leather strips geometrically applied over garments creating triangular webs, or prints of the same triangular pattern in black and white for garments with bilateral symmetry. The fabrics used are organic cotton, cupro, tencel, silk, polyesther, acrylic and polyurethane.
